Jonas is currently the Secretary of the Central Chapter of NYWEA. He previously served as Chair of the Central Chapter Young Professionals Committee.
Jonas is an Environmental Engineer at ARCADIS in Syracuse, NY since 2011. He has his Bachelor of Science in Biological Systems Engineering from the University of Wisconsin. As a student, Jonas chartered the AWWA/WEF chapter at his University which is still active on campus. As a student member of AWWA/WEF, Jonas attended WEFTEC in 2009 and 2010. His 2009 WEFTEC Student design project competed against teams with multiple students, and placed first regionally and third nationally. Jonas also participated in Engineers Without Borders and traveled to El Salvador as part of a wastewater treatment plant assessment. During his time at ARCADIS, Jonas has participated in all areas of design and construction. Some recent projects that Jonas has worked on include design and construction inspection of Rehabilitation of the Deicing and Snow Melt Pads at Syracuse Hancock International Airport and an Outfall Inspection Program in Washington DC. Jonas has been actively involved in NYWEA since 2011 as the 2013 co-chair, and the 2014 chair, of the Central Chapter Young Professionals Committee. In his free time, Jonas enjoys living in upstate New York which has great opportunities for whitewater kayaking and rafting, ultimate Frisbee, and hiking. Prior to working at ARCADIS, Jonas worked as an intern for Aecom in Madison, WI and as an engineer for HDR in Charlotte, NC.
