Rick started in the wastewater industry in January of 1986 as a Laborer at the Rome Water Pollution Control Facility after deciding that his ambition of obtaining an Accounting degree was not what he wanted. After four years of being a Laborer, he decided to make this industry his career. He became a Junior Operator in June of 1990, obtained his 3A License and became a Shift Operator in May of 1994, and finally was promoted to Chief Operator in October of 2012. He was an integral part of the team that has won numerous awards, including the 1998 and 2006 NYSDEC Operations and Maintenance Awards for Large Advanced Facilities. Rick is a member of two NYWEA Committees, which are the Utility Executive Committee and the Utility Operations and Maintenance Committee, and also assists in approving RTC's for various trainings and conferences.

Rick has lived in Rome, NY all of his life. He loves spending time with his wife Pam, his two children Kaleigh and Cameron, and two step-children Emily and Matt. He is a huge hockey fan and enjoys watching his team, the Boston Bruins, and his wife's team, the NY Rangers. He also enjoys supporting the local AHL team, the Utica Comets.
